VOLUNTEER INFORMATION
Our volunteers are valuable partners in education at North Smithfield Elementary School. We are grateful for your willingness to be part of our learning community. Our school district has a rich history of volunteerism by our families to support our schools. Our volunteers have served as role models to enhance the education experiences of our students.
A volunteer works in many capacities in our school and with different staff members. Duties performed by our volunteers include: being a guest speaker, tutoring in the classroom, supervising learning centers, monitoring students at lunch time or in the library or computer lab, assisting teachers with the preparation of learning materials, chaperoning field trips, and helping from home by making learning materials.
Every volunteer is required to read the Handbook and return the Application Form and Confidentiality Agreement, signed and dated, stating that you understand and agree to comply with the policies and procedures. When you arrive to serve as a volunteer, you will be asked to sign in as a visitor and wear a Visitor Identification Badge while you are on school premises.
It is not necessary to attend a volunteer training session if you have already done so in the recent past few years. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us. We look forward to working with all our volunteers to ensure a safe, secure, and engaging learning community for all our students.
